The AKCENT International House Prague language school is a certified Goethe-Institut examination center authorized to administer international German language examinations – Goethe-Zertifikat A1, Goethe-Zertifikat A2, Goethe-Zertifikat B1, Goethe-Zertifikat B2, and Goethe-Zertifikat C1.

Conditions for participation in the exam

  • Participation in the exam is not conditional on attending a language course at our school or passing a preliminary exam.
  • Exam applications are accepted by the registration office. In order to order exam materials, it is necessary to meet the application deadlines specified in the current exam dates. Any medical certificates regarding the special needs of participants must also be delivered by this date.
  • By signing the application form, the candidate confirms that they have read and accept the current version of the examination rules and regulations.
  • The exam will take place if at least four candidates register for it by the given deadline.
  • The exam fee must be paid before the registration deadline. The method of payment will be agreed with the applicant by the registration office at the time of registration.
  • Successful candidates will receive their certificate by post within 4 weeks of the exam date.

Types of exams

Internationally recognized German exams that you can take at the AKCENT International House Prague language school
 
The AKCENT International House Prague language school is licensed by the Goethe-Institut to conduct international language exams at various levels and for specific target groups. The exams are recognized worldwide and are often decisive when looking for a job.
By studying at the AKCENT International House Prague language school, students of German language courses can obtain internationally recognized Goethe-Institut certificates according to their level of knowledge.
The following exams can be taken directly at our language school:

Goethe-Zertifikat A1
This exam requires elementary language skills. It corresponds to the first level (A1) of the six-level competence scale according to the Common European Framework of Reference. By passing this exam, you will demonstrate your ability to understand basic questions and statements in everyday situations, introduce yourself, fill out personal information on forms, and write short personal messages. It takes 80 to 200 teaching hours to reach this level.

Goethe-Zertifikat A2
This exam tests basic language skills at level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Successful candidates understand everyday conversations, as well as messages on the radio or on the phone, and can find important information in short newspaper articles and advertisements. They are able to fill out common forms and express themselves orally and in writing on common personal topics. You will reach this level after 200 to 350 teaching hours.

Goethe-Zertifikat B1
By passing this exam, you will demonstrate a solid basic knowledge of spoken German, enabling you to communicate in all important situations in everyday life. You are able to participate in conversations, express your opinion, agree on something, understand important information in announcements, on the radio and in newspapers, and express yourself in writing. Depending on the circumstances, this level can be achieved after 350 to 650 hours of instruction.
In Germany, the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 is recognized as proof of German language proficiency when acquiring German citizenship.

Goethe-Zertifikat B2
This exam requires a more advanced language level (600 to 800 teaching hours). Passing this exam demonstrates knowledge of German at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Successful candidates can understand longer and more abstract texts, write clearly and in a structured manner, actively participate in discussions, and express their opinions.
In some countries, the Goethe-Zertifikat B2 is a prerequisite for studying German language and literature, and in Germany it is recognized as proof of language proficiency at some secondary schools and universities.

Goethe-Zertifikat C1
This exam requires an advanced language level (800 to 1000 teaching hours). By passing it, you demonstrate a good knowledge of standard German, enabling you to understand even difficult and longer texts without much effort and to express yourself comprehensively and appropriately, both orally and in writing.
