Course organization

Project preparation
  • Consultation on client needs and proposal of solutions - We will listen to your requirements and needs, propose options, and recommend the optimal solution.
  • Entrance testing - In order to ensure an effective start to the program, we recommend that applicants who are not complete beginners take an entrance test. You can use our online test for testing, or we can prepare a written test to be taken at our premises. Alternatively, after consultation, another form of entrance testing can be chosen.
  • Proposal for division into study groups - Based on the results of the entrance testing and the desired content focus of the study, we will propose a division into study groups.
Project Implementation
  • Needs Analysis of Participants – The needs analysis usually consists of an interview between the teacher and the participants during the first lesson of the course, and its outcome is summarized in a Needs Analysis document. The outputs of this consultation allow us to approach participants’ needs comprehensively—we identify both their language learning history and their wishes and needs regarding the focus of instruction. Based on these criteria, we design the course content.
  • Setting Study Objectives and Creating a Study Plan – For each course, within the first few lessons we prepare a study plan based on the results of participants’ placement tests, the needs analysis, the planned number of lessons, and above all their specific requirements and needs. This includes selecting teaching materials, defining objectives, setting the pace, and scheduling tests.
  • Teaching in Accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) – Our qualified Czech and international teachers provide high-quality, modern instruction in line with CEFR standards.
  • Provision of Outputs – At each lesson, participants sign an attendance sheet and the teacher records the material covered in a lesson log. Copies of the attendance sheets are sent to clients regularly on a monthly basis. Copies of the lesson log are provided upon request.
  • This ensures that employers have continuous oversight of employee attendance and the progress of instruction in the course.
  • Quality Monitoring – Throughout the project, we continuously monitor service quality. Client questionnaires are used to obtain feedback. The quality of teaching is monitored through classroom observations conducted by the academic management of AKCENT International House Prague.
  • Progress Assessment – During the course of study, participants’ progress is measured through ongoing testing. The results of these tests are sent to clients electronically.
  • Academic Support – Methodological support for teachers during project implementation is provided by an experienced and highly qualified academic management team.
  • Final Certificates – For programs with a minimum duration of 20 teaching hours, we provide a Linguistic Profile and an AKCENT International House Prague certificate as final outcomes.
  • The Linguistic Profile is an individual evaluation intended for employers. It assesses and describes the participant’s level of proficiency and includes an analysis of all four core language skills—speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
  • The AKCENT International House Prague certificate is an individual evaluation for participants. It assesses and describes the participant’s level of proficiency and states the number of completed lessons and the course focus.
  • Both types of final assessment are fully aligned with the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), externally developed by the Council of Europe. This provides not only an overview of your employees’ current language proficiency level, but—since the ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) has aligned its examinations with CEFR levels—it also indicates which international language examination best corresponds to their proficiency. Additionally, through this independent institution, you can compare how applicable your employees’ language skills are in the workplace.

All organizational support for participants in corporate courses is provided by the Corporate Training Department of our language school. The Course Manager coordinates all aspects of course organization and communication between the companies.
