Meet our team

Akcent International House is a Platinum Cambridge exam centre that has offered the CELTA and DELTA courses for nearly 30 years. Our courses have launched hundreds of ELT teaching careers.

Jaime Lilley, CELTA/DELTA Tutor, Head of Teacher Training has been teaching since 2005 years, and training since 2009.
She is a CELTA and DELTA tutor, and has been the head of Akcent's Teacher Training Centre since 2021. She maintains a lively teaching practice of adults, exam preparation, ESP students, and very young learners (4-6 years). She favours a responsive, learner-driven, humanistic, and democratic approach in the classroom.
In her non-teaching time, she publishes a poetry journal and enjoys the arts.

Adam Řehák, Teacher Training Centre Administrator, is your go-to person for questions concerning CELTA and DELTA courses. He will guide you through the registration process and handle your accommodation, if requested. He works as the administrative support of Teacher Training Centre and provides communication with candidates or anyone else in need of assistance. As an anthropology graduate he is happy to meet people of various backgrounds and will be glad to help you as a guide for Czechia as a whole.

Betty Polišenská CELTA/DELTA Tutor has been training teachers on CELTA courses since 2001 and became a DELTA tutor in 2009. Over the years, she has trained teachers in many contexts across Europe, Africa and Asia. These days she trains teachers mainly online: she thinks it is a great way to make learning accessible, practical and autonomous. Her professional interests are task-based, purposeful and learner-driven learning, use of L1 and translation and implicit learning.  Outside work, she enjoys being outdoors with her rough collie.

Joe Fisher, CELTA Tutor, Cambridge Examiner has spent over 20 years in ELT, working as a teacher, trainer, and academic manager in more than 10 countries. He’s currently based in Prague, where he is a Cambridge examiner, and delivers CELTA courses with AKCENT International House Prague.

Hannah Morris, CELTA Tutor has been teaching English since 2013 and has taught in just about every context, from one-to-one lessons up at Prague Castle to groups of five-year-olds in rooms resembling cupboards. These days, she enjoys getting creative during the planning process and spends her days teaching adults all over the city. She believes in a responsive, learner-centred approach that maximises student talking time and meaningful communication.  She has been a CELTA trainer since 2023, and loves guiding trainees through the challenges and successes of the course; she usually has to fight back happy tears on the last day.

George Hardwick, CELTA Tutor is an ESL teacher and CELTA teacher-trainer from the United Kingdom, now based in Prague. He has previously taught in the UK, Malta, South Korea and now the Czech Republic, to all ages and in a variety of contexts. He is particularly interested in teaching one-to-one, and in helping adult students develop their English communication skills to meet practical and achievable needs and goals in their personal and professional lives.

Zhenya Dobrolezha, CELTA Tutor is a DELTA-certified teacher and CELTA teacher trainer with more than 20 years’ experience in three different countries. She has taught YL classes, business English, conversation classes and specialises in exam preparation.

Laszlo Balda, CELTA Tutor has worked in a variety of ELT roles and contexts since 2009. He has taught exam classes, general and academic English, and contributed to various teacher education programs. In addition to working as a CELTA trainer, he has supervised undergraduate students’ teaching practice and delivered workshops and training sessions for both novice and experienced teachers. The different ELT roles and CPD opportunities have given him the chance to spend time in Canada, Hungary, Czechia, Italy, the UK, and Australia. He believes that meeting new people is the best part of his job. Outside the classroom, he enjoys travelling, cooking, watching sci-fi films, and taking long walks.
