Anne Robinson - Motivating Young Learners for YL Cambridge Exams
Cambridge Pre-A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers are interactive, colourful and activity-based. Young Learners should love preparing for them and even test-day should be a truly enjoyable experience. How can we make sure that young learners (and their parents) really see their value and usefulness at this early stage in their English learning journey? Let’s explore some ways of ensuring that young learners actively participate in class and develop a positive mindset towards learning and assessment.

Anne Robinson is an active author, teacher and trainer for all levels of students. She has been involved in the Cambridge Young Learners Exams since they launched in 1998 and thoroughly enjoys creating materials and sharing tips with teachers and students to help them achieve success in their learning and exam preparation. She is the author of Fun for Starters, Movers and Flyers and Fun Skills 3 and 5.

Participants will be guided through key features of the Cambridge One platform and the Cambridge Teacher’s Hub, with a focus on using these resources to plan lessons, support learners, track progress and save time. Through demonstrations and classroom-ready ideas, teachers will discover how to integrate digital content effectively, boost student engagement and make the most of Cambridge’s online tools.

Charles Stewart is Professional Learning and Development Specialist at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and is based in Prague. Anne Robinson - How to Teach Speaking for YL Cambridge

Exams Which activities can we use in our young learner classes to develop their speaking skills generally? How can we best prepare them for the speaking tasks used in the Cambridge Young Learner Exams? In this session, we’ll consider which speaking skills are relevant and attainable at Pre-A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers levels. And we’ll also try out some activities for you to take away and use in your classrooms.
