Based on the Cambridge ESOL Examinations certificate, the school is an open examination center with the right to examine its own students as well as all external applicants. It organizes Cambridge language exams KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, BEC, and YLE on a regular basis for all examination centers.
We are the only private language school in the Czech Republic that is an accredited center of the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations for organizing methodological courses for English teachers without previous teaching experience at the level of The Cambridge CELTA – Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults. This globally recognized certificate is particularly valued in private language schools as an entry-level teaching qualification for English teachers.
We are the only institution in the Czech Republic accredited by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations to organize methodology courses for qualified English teachers in practice – The Cambridge ICELT – In-Service Certificate in English Language Teaching, which is internationally recognized.
We are also the only institution in the Czech Republic accredited by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations to organize prestigious methodological courses for experienced English teachers at the level of the internationally recognized Cambridge DELTA – Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults. Among other things, this course prepares experienced teachers for future methodological and managerial activities in language education.
We are the only institution in the Czech Republic licensed to administer The Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) for English teachers. The test is primarily intended for teachers at elementary, secondary, and language schools. Typical candidates should have at least some short-term teaching experience. The minimum required level of English is PET certificate level, i.e. level B1 according to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Based on the Cambridge Assessment English certificate, AKCENT International House Prague became the first Linguaskill agent in the Czech Republic. Linguaskill is a corporate testing of individuals or groups. There are two variants available, Linguaskill General and Linguaskill Business, which are used to measure and support communication skills depending on whether the position requires daily communication with foreign clients or the use of English in a corporate environment.
