The Au-pair program is a cultural exchange program. That means that the host family you stay with is carefully chosen to meet strict parameters of good reputation. During your stay you will receive a guaranteed salary and be in constant contact with an agency representative in the region you are working in. One of the conditions of the program is to take part in a course that will help you to increase you knowledge of the language and culture of the country you choose. For the USA, a preparation course for the TOEFL is required by most universities and also by employers.
