Young Learners Exams Cambridge Exams for Children
ESOL Exams - also called Cambridge exams are organized by the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate. AKCENT IH Prague is an examination center of these exams it can test its own students.
The validity of these exams is unlimited.
YLE Starters
Ages
- 811 years
'Starters', 'Movers' and 'Flyers' are individual steps taking learners to the main group of the Cambridge ESOL exams such as KET and PET. 'Starters' is the 1st level exam, taking students from the Elementary level to the Waystage level.
Parts of the test
- Reading and Writing 20 minutes
- Listening approximately 20 minutes
- Speaking approximately 5 minutes
Preparation for this test helps to stimulate children in a positive way for future language study and to take them naturally to the next exam level (Movers).
YLE Movers
Ages
- 811 years
'Starters',' Movers' and 'Flyers' are individual steps taking children to the main group of Cambridge ESOL exams such as KET and PET. 'Movers' is the 2nd step.
Parts of the test
- Reading and Writing 30 minutes
- Listening approximately 25 minutes
- Speaking 7 minutes
This test prepares children in a positive way for future language study and to take them naturally to the next level of exams (Flyers).
YLE Flyers
Ages
- 811 years
'Starters', 'Movers' and 'Flyers' are individual steps taking children to the main group of Cambridge ESOL exams such as KET and PET. 'Fliers' is the 3rd step..
Parts of the test
- Reading and Writing 40 minutes
- Listening approximately 20 minutes
- Speaking 9 minutes
The test is prepared to stimulate children in a positive way for future language study and to take them naturally to the next level of exams which is the first of the main group of the Cambridge ESOL exams (KET).
Young Learners over the age of 12 can take one of the General English Exams, such as PET or FCE. For information about these exams please see the General English section of the exams site.
