You ask, we answer.
Would you like to know more about our courses?
Non native speaker
I think my previous question was not clear. What i wanted to say is that i'm interested in learning CELTA at Akcent but i wanted to get your opinion on the ease of getting a teaching job if you're a non native with CELTA or TEFL qualification. Thanks.

Dear Junyma, I´m afraid that we can´t make out the definitive answer. Of course it would be easier to find a job in Prague if you pass the CELTA course but please understand that we can´t guarantee that it´s going to be for sure or easy. Yes it´s highly recommended to do this course and it´s very likely you will get a job more easy all aroud the world. (In some of the schools it´s actually the condition of getting the job). I don´t think it should make any difference for you as a non native speaker. Hope this helped. For further information about CELTA course please contact ttraining@akcent.cz.

Hi, I'm not a native speaker but speak and write English very fluently. Will I be able to find work in Prague (i Have Czech Permanent Residence) Also, I'm not a holder of a degree - will that be a hindrance? Your response will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Junyma

I can´t speak for other institutions but for our school (as a teacher) you would need CELTA. You may contact other language schools and ask them what their requirements are. Have a nice day!

I'm very interested in teaching English to business persons or at a higher education institution. I have a Bachelor's in education and a Master's in Training and Development with 10 years business experience. Would you recommend that I contact language schools and universities with my information prior to traveling to Prague and gaining a CELTA certificate to gain contacts?

In the U.S. there are federal loan programs that you can get if the school will send the info to the FAFSA program here. There are some medical schools in Prague that do this but I am trying to find out about yours. Thank you for your time and help!

I would also like the answer to this question. Thank you, CDubal Loans??Is ih a company or a school? I am asking this because I would like to take the CELTA course and I will not be able to obtain a loan from my student loan provider for the class unless ih Prague is a certified school, not a private company. I would love to take part in the classes but the only thing holding me back is the cost of the classes. I am an American citizen by the way. Sender: Ghassan Date: 01. 05. 2006 23:53 Answer: Loans?? I will pass your question on to a competent person in our Teacher Training Centre. Have a nice day! Thank you for your inquiry, Ghassan. Unfortunately, I can’t really answer your question simply as I don’t know what you mean by a “certified” school. Akcent IH is a co-operative company, not a state run organization. We are certified by different institutions such as the British Council or the Czech Association of Language Schools. I imagine this is not quite what you were hoping for. Let me know if I can be of any more help.
