The Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is the world's most recognised EFL qualification and your first reliable step to teaching anywhere in the world.
It is an internationally recognized, externally accredited TEFL course (not self-validated like many others). It provides fluent speakers of English with high quality training in teaching English as a foreign language, and it´s taken by over 10,000 candidates each year.
The course is ideal for novices as well as teachers who are already in the profession, but who have no formal or practical teaching qualification. AKCENT IH Prague is the only authorized CELTA training center in the Czech and Slovak Republics, and each course is moderated by Cambridge officials.

I’ve been involved in teaching and teacher training since 1990: in Hungary, Russia, South Africa and the Czech Republic. Apart from running the Teacher Training Centre here at AKCENT IH Prague I also, together with the rest of the team of trainers, get to work on the Cambridge CELTA, DELTA and TKT courses. In my free time I like to visit different places, read books and go to Prague’s best yoga class. And I won’t say no to a good shopping spree either…

Teacher Training Centre Coordinator
My main job together with Leona is to administer CELTA courses. I have been working in AKCENT IH Prague for two years and one of the reasons I find it interesting is that I can meet people from different countries every day. When I am not working, I am trying to finish my University studies. I also enjoy learning foreign languages, reading good books, watching movies or going to concerts.

Accommodation and TKT Coordinator
I organise accommodation for our CELTA candidates. Before my current job at AKCENT IH Prague I had lived in Sydney for 3 years, which was a great experience. Upon my return I felt I really needed a job where I can work with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds and, luckily, came across this school! In my leisure time I like movies, books and red wine. And I like travelling a lot. My last longer trip was to Nepal, the next one could be to Tasmania...
