The Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is the world's most recognised EFL qualification and your first reliable step to teaching anywhere in the world.
It is an internationally recognized, externally accredited TEFL course (not self-validated like many others). It provides fluent speakers of English with high quality training in teaching English as a foreign language, and it´s taken by over 10,000 candidates each year.
The course is ideal for novices as well as teachers who are already in the profession, but who have no formal or practical teaching qualification. AKCENT IH Prague is the only authorized CELTA training center in the Czech and Slovak Republics, and each course is moderated by Cambridge officials.

I’ve been involved in teaching and teacher training since 1990: in Hungary, Russia, South Africa and the Czech Republic. Apart from running the Teacher Training Centre here at AKCENT IH Prague I also, together with the rest of the team of trainers, get to work on the Cambridge CELTA, DELTA and TKT courses. In my free time I like to visit different places, read books and go to Prague’s best yoga class. And I won’t say no to a good shopping spree either…

Teacher Training Centre Coordinator
My main job together with Leona is to administer CELTA courses. I have been working in AKCENT IH Prague for seven years and one of the reasons I find it interesting is that I can meet people from different countries every day. When I am not working, I like spending time with my family and friends. I like travelling, reading books, watching movies and swimming, but past three years I have been spending most of my free time with my daughter.

I am in charge of accommodation for CELTA students. I have worked in several, mostly international, companies before joining Akcent. What I like about working here is the people, and the stimulating and helpful atmosphere. In my free time I like to read, watch good movies, and hike in mountains.
